Why we exist
Invoice apps have been screwing tradies. We read 4,400 reviews to prove it.
Five years of “free forever”, then a paywall over your own data. “Unlimited” plans that quietly become 3 invoices a month. Price rises every winter. This is what users of the big invoice apps say right now:
★“I've used this app for 5 years for free, now they've paywalled it… I'm switching to something else.”
★“They recently reduced the number of invoices per month to THREE. That's PAID.”
★★★“Xero needs a less expensive simpler version for sole traders… that allows you to send more than 20 invoices!”
The Fair Dinkum Covenant
Seven promises, in writing, on this page forever.
Every clause exists because a big invoice app broke it. If we ever change this page, the changelog is public.
Your price never rises while you're subscribed. Ever.
The price you join at is your price for life.
Because: Xero has raised prices every year; Bookipi added $100/yr in 2026.
No invoice caps. Free or paid.
"Unlimited" means unlimited. Not 3. Not 10.
Because: Invoice Simple capped paid "unlimited" plans at 10/month in 2025.
Cancel in one tap. Keep your records forever, free.
Read-only access to every invoice you ever sent, even after you leave.
Because: apps hold years of your invoices hostage behind a resubscribe button.
Export everything, any time, in one tap.
CSV and PDF of all invoices, clients and totals. Your data is yours.
Because: data ransom is the only thing stopping people leaving bad apps.
We never touch your money.
Invoices point at your own bank account. We can't freeze funds we never hold.
Because: payment-app users report frozen payouts at the worst possible moment.
A real human always replies. Never a bot.
Paying members get a reply within 24 hours, guaranteed. Free members still get a real person — just not a countdown clock.
Because: "three tiers of AI before a human" is the industry standard now.
No feature you rely on gets removed or moved up-tier.
What you signed up for stays yours.
Because: quietly moving features behind higher tiers is the category's favourite trick.

Compare: Xero from $35/mo. Hnry takes 1% of your income. Sole $14.99/mo. Bookipi $19.99/mo. We can charge $9 because we don’t run payments, don’t hold your money, and don’t have a VC to feed.
Fair questions
FAQ
How is the free tier actually free?
Free users are our marketing. Every invoice you send has a small "Sent free with Dinkum Invoice" footer — the person receiving it is usually a sole trader too. Some free users later want BAS reports and pay $9. That’s the whole model. No ads, no selling your data, no payment-processing cut.
What does "ATO-correct" mean?
The legally required "Tax Invoice" heading, your ABN, GST shown per line item with correct rounding, and the right treatment when you’re under the GST threshold. Several big apps get this wrong — some can’t even print the words "Tax Invoice".
What if you go broke or get acquired?
The covenant includes one-tap export of everything, always — so the worst case is you leave with all your data. Read-only archives are guaranteed for as long as the service exists, and our costs are low precisely because we never touch payments.
Can the $9 price really never rise?
Your subscription price is locked from the day you subscribe. List price for new customers may change in the future — but yours doesn’t. That’s clause 1, in writing.
When does it launch?
The beta opens for the waitlist first, with imports from Bookipi and Invoice Simple ready on day one. Join above and you’ll get one email when it’s ready.
